Ground Zero was started off in Unity as a three day prototype. After showcasing the prototype to the designer, I started development in Godot. I worked on this project for two weeks and created the core systems. Production on this game was halted due to NU Element Interactive Ltd. wanting to begin production on All 10.Â
My role in this project in the beginning was to create a presentable prototype. Once the prototype was finished, my role switched to create the core systems that the game needed. Since Ground Zero is a real time strategy game, it is systems heavy. The biggest challenge I had when creating this project was creating the separate troops. This was the largest project I had created in Godot, so I had to spend time learning more about the engine before attempting any of the systems. Ground Zero was a great introduction into collaborating on a project with a team.
